Falmouth University has a history of more than 100 years of creative thinking and design innovation. Established in 1902 as Falmouth School of Art, we have grown to become a digital innovation hub, delivering impact for lives and economies through the development of new knowledge, solutions, services and products. Today, our undergraduate and postgraduate courses represent the breadth of the creative industries, the fastest growing sector in the UK economy. Falmouth’s specialisms will be key to future economic and cultural success both at a local and global level.

Our ambitious 2030 Strategy, ‘Doing it for Real’, is designed to deliver yet further growth in our student numbers and income through portfolio diversification, innovation, research and commercial ventures. It will establish Falmouth as the market leader for creative industries and entrepreneurship education over the next decade, capitalising on our considerable assets in innovation-led research and business incubation.

The South West Creative Technology Network is seeking a fixed term project lead to explore what kinds of spaces are needed by the health sector in their pivot towards digital provision.  Leveraging expertise developed through previous SWCTN activity and working closely with colleagues at Falmouth and across the network, the successful candidate will lead on a project which responds to the findings which emerged from the 2020 Research England Design Thinking work programme, delivered with the Cornwall Digital Transformation Board.

We welcome applications for candidates from a range of disciplinary and professional backgrounds and would be particularly interested in proposals for secondments and cross-disciplinary job shares.

A successful external candidate for this position would be employed by Falmouth Staffing Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Falmouth University. Employees of Falmouth Staffing Ltd work alongside Falmouth University colleagues in delivery of Falmouth’s strategic vision, and will adopt Falmouth University’s HR policies and procedures in full.

We offer excellent facilities and benefits to our staff. These include generous holiday entitlements, contributory pension scheme, and training and development opportunities. Full details regarding employment benefits can be found on our careers site.

The closing date for this position is Sunday 13 December 2020.
