Launch of the SWCTN Porthmeor Residencies and Celebration at Porthmeor Studios
SWCTN Porthmeor Residency Launch Saturday 18th May 3:30pm
Join the SWCTN team at the famous Porthmeor Studios for the launch of the very exciting, new Porthmeor Residencies focusing on immersion. This unique opportunity invites creatives working in the field of immersion and immersive tech to apply for a 1 month supported Residency. Come and find out more and also join the wider Porthmeor Studios celebrations from 1pm – 5pm the jammed packed programme includes:
- Open Studios by Porthmeor Artists’ Residency Programme guests Steven Claydon and Daniel Sinsel and long-term tenant artists: Sam Bassett, Andy Harper, Felicity Mara, Iain Robertson, Marion Taylor and Clare Wardman
- Exhibition by Virginia Bounds in the Borlase Smart room.
- Talk by Turner Prize winner Lubaina Himid in her studio 2pm (fully booked).
- 3.30pm – The launch of a 3 x 1 month SWCTN Porthmeor Residencies for artists using technology focussing on immersion (Oct, Nov or Dec 2019).
- Try VR and HoloLens experiences (including 3D painting)
- Kate Walters Shetland Notebooks book-signing
- Drop-in free life drawing classes at the St Ives School of Painting – short poses every half hour from 1.30pm to 5pm.
- Mark Dion’s installation The Maritime Artist in Cellar 4
